If you are manually entering your minutes, please have them submitted by 5 pm each Monday.
How are points determined?
For the minutes challenge: Each minute of exercise is 1 point. The person who has the most overall points at the end of the challenge is the winner.
For the steps challenge: Every 1,000 steps is 1 point. The person who has the most overall points at the end of the challenge is the winner.
Move it EVERYDAY
The Get Fit Challenge will offer 3 coordinated physical activity (walks, yoga, etc.) events throughout the competition. Check out Physical Activity Opportunities to see when these events will take place.
Share an Activity
We want to know how you are being physically active. Let us know of physical activity opportunities that you are coordinating throughout the Challenge by sending us an email. These opportunities can be forming a kickball league, an after school P90X class, a walking club, etc. Be creative! Open these activities to all members in the Challenge and we’ll post the opportunity on our webpage under Share an Activity.
Prizes and Giveaways
Various prizes will be raffled off to participants throughout the competition. Be sure to tune in to your email to see if you’ve won a prize!
Weekly Tips
Looking for inspiration and motivation? Look no further! Get Fit Challenge participants will be emailed weekly health tips through our Wellness Wednesday initiative. We will also announce the top three individuals in both challenges.
Challenge Runner
This year, we have the awesome opportunity of using the program Challenge Runner to track the Get Fit Challenge. Challenge Runner is an online fitness challenge platform that helps create, manage, and track health and wellness challenges with ease. Challenge Runner allows you to link your fitness device (Fitbit, Garmin, Jawbone, etc.) to the program. By linking your fitness device, your steps are automatically uploaded to the website for you!
If you are not using a fitness device, you can manually enter your minutes each day or by 5PM each Monday just like previous years. You can even download the Challenge Runner app on your smart phone, allowing you to enter data and view the scoreboard with greater ease.
Now, how about a little healthy competition to fuel the Get Fit Challenge?!
